Tom Petty finally played in Gainesville again after 13 years of silence. He and his band all grew up in Gainesville and were honored by the mayor with a key to the city. Now for those of you who do not know, Gainesville is also home to the greatest college/football team in all the land (GO GATORS!). Now I just ask, why now? Why couldn't this have happened while I was in school to see it? Bummer. But congrats Petty - glad you finally found your way back home...

The show kicked major ass too!! The band was totally into because it was being filmed for a tv special. Also Stevie Nix made an appearance and sang a few songs with Tom.
